The Darr Family

I recently did family portraits for my brothers girlfriend, Lindsay. This was the first time I had met any of her sisters. When I met them at the park, I was confused.. I didn't know one single family could have so many blondes. From a distance.. I honestly could not tell which one was Lindsay. Fortunately, I figured it out with my ingenious intelligence. To get to the point, this was a lot of fun. It was easy and relaxing to shoot because they were all pretty much lenient on any pose I was wanting to do. Not to mention, they were a very beautiful family... so that makes my job a little easier. Any who, here are a few shots that made my 'favorites' file:

School + Work + Photography =

BUSY!

It's been a few months since my last post, I have no excuse (aside from the fact that my life is consumed with either school, work, shooting or... sadly, sleeping ;)) BUT this does not mean, whatsoever, that I have not been shooting. I was actually thinking to myself the other day that I really wish life was as simple as it was in elementary school. My daily routines back then: Wake up, go to school, do homework on the bus, come home and play, eat dinner and then sleep. Needless to say, growing up is not as fun as I thought it would be when I was 8.

Anyways, these next 8 months for school are going to be rough. I'm ready for it, but I'm nervous. It's a little scare when your teacher tells you that all of your work in the past that you have received 'A's' on.. isn't really an 'A'. That there was a kick in the face. But, we all needed it. Now we all know that we can't just do assignments to get them done. Everything from here on out has to be our best work. It's portfolio building time everyone! Be ready to spend hours on end in the freezing rain, humid days, bitter cold days (and so much more) shooting. Shooting for HOURS just to get one shot that would be perfect. And then, editing for days (who am I kidding? More like days and nights). After editing, we will print for hours.. just to color correct one print. Hint: avoid hay and grass in your shots. As scary as all of this may sound, this is what I want to do and I'm ready to go crazy and be stressed out. It'll all be worth it in the end.

So, for those who may actually see this.. I really am going to try to keep updating with my latest shoots. If I forget, I always have the friendly reminder of my boyfriend, "Kayla, your blog really needs updating.." HA! Without him mentioning something the other day, I don't think I would be making this post. So, Thank You Travis Flynn, I Love You!
